This guide describes how you can create a Copaco VMware Cloud Private Network.


Prerequisites to this guide:

 

UX1

  1. Login to the customer control panel in UX1 interface.

  2. Within UX1 for Customer open vCloud Director

  3. Click on Actions and choose VDC Network

  4. Enter the following settings and click on SaveOrg VDC Network Name: Choose a name for the Virtual NetworkGateway address: Choose a private ip address, this will be the Gateway for the VMsNetwork Mask: Choose a subnetmask for the private ip addressIP Range: (Optional): This is an optional setting, you can create a DHCP scope in the VMware Vcloud portal later on.
    Primary DNS: (Optional)  This is an optional setting, you can setup DNS in DHCP in the VMware Vcloud portal later on
    Secondary DNS: (Optional) (Optional)  This is an optional setting, you can setup DNS in DHCP in the VMware Vcloud portal later on
    DNS suffix: (Optional) (Optional)  This is an optional setting, you can setup DNS in DHCP in the VMware Vcloud portal later on

  5. You should now wait for a few minutes until network edge creation is completed. You will be notified by a message in your control panel.

  6. Now you should go back to the same VDC Network menu item.(You can skip the next two steps if your subscription is initially created after 1st of November 2020)

  7. You are redirected to a new page.  Press the green "Obtain IP" page to link a public IP to your network edge. Then wait for a few minutes for the IP to be assigned.

Although this step adds a second IP address to the tenant, it is crucial that this step is done. The first IP can be used to configure the customer environment. The second IP address will be deleted by Copaco in the near future.
