How to configure your Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 customer tenant account with Microsoft 365

Summary

When you have purchased a Veam Backup for Microsoft 365 subscription you need to add your Microsoft 365 tenant to your Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 tenant account. This article describes how you can do this

Prerequisites

• Make sure you have purchased a Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 subscription (see How to order Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 for a customer)

• Make sure you have access to our Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 portal as a customer

Getting Started

1. Login to our Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 portal as a customer

2. On the first login, a pop-up is then shown to perform authentication to the targeted tenant with a device code.
   

   

3. Open a new browser and browse to the following location http://microsoft.com/devicelogin

4. Now enter the code that is displayed in step 2 and click “Next”
   

   

5. Enter the username of a global admin within the tenant and click “Next”

   

6. Enter the password and click “Sign in”

   

7. On the next screen click “Continue”

   

8. Now the connection is made and you can close the authentication window
   

   

9. Now go back to our Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 portal and click on “Submit”
   
   

   

10. The tenant is now created on our Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 server
    

    

11. After provisioning is complete you can start create and managing backup jobs
